The temperatures have finally come down and many families may be thinking about family photos and holiday greetings. Are you looking for a more interactive way to send holiday greetings? Do you want to include your kids in the creation and maybe save some money as well? Go Digital!

There are a number of free resources available that can help you create a meaningful greeting without breaking the bank! These apps and websites are simple enough that you can have your kids help you design your masterpiece.

Pixlr (pixlr.com) – An online photo editor that will allow you to put text, filters, and special effects over a photo. Save and either print copies or share them via social media.
PicMonkey (picmonkey.com) – Another online photo editor option with text, filters, and special effects. Preset sizes for popular social media sites.

Canva (canva.com) – Create beautiful designs using one of their templates (many are free) or start from scratch to create your own. Insert photos if you’d like, everything is customizable.
WeVideo (wevideo.com) – Edit videos easily online, add text, special effects, etc. The free version has a file size limit, but this is a great way to send friends and family a highlight reel. Upload to YouTube or Vimeo to make sharing easy – you have control over the privacy settings so that only those you allow will see your creation.

You could also use an app such as PhotoScan (google.com/photos/scan/) to digitize your kids’ artwork and turn their creativity into your holiday greeting. There are so many options!

Once you’ve perfected your creation, you can share it via email or your favorite social media app. In addition, there are several apps and websites that will mail a photo postcard for you! Check out mypostcard.com or touchnote.com for some options.

While using creative tools may be appealing to all ages, be sure to check age requirements before allowing your children to create accounts on any of these sites or apps.
