If you’re in the mood to bake your own birthday dessert, we have a foolproof recipe to make a dozen homemade cupcakes! They have wonderful, rich flavor, and the best thing is that you only need one mixing bowl to make the batter. Give this recipe a try, and you will see why homemade cakes are uniquely moist, fragrant, and flavorful.

Ingredients

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup sugar
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
2 eggs
¾ cup butter, melted
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla
½ cup milk

Your choice of frosting and decorations.

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and line a muffin tin with 12 cupcake liners. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Next, add the eggs, butter, vanilla, and milk. Using a wire whisk, stir hard and fast to mix all the ingredients into a light and smooth mixture. Scrape the sides of the bowl and mix once again. Divide cupcake batter into the 12 liners. Bake for 20 minutes, and test for doneness by poking the center of one cupcake with a toothpick. If it comes out clean, your cakes are done. Let them cool completely before decorating.
