My kids get invited to a lot of birthday parties. So, opening the envelope of the invitation is always met with surprise to see where the party is taking place. Though they have gone to Laser Oasis several times for parties, each time it is written on the “where” line of the invite, the boys squeal with glee.

Laser Oasis in La Quinta is a 17,000 square foot facility, 6,000 of which is the laser tag arena, making it the largest in Southern California. The arena is multi-level and has the capacity for up to 30 people to play one of several different game types. The game hosts are very informative and helpful and the sights and sounds are thrilling. If someone does not want to play laser tag they can still “participate” by going to the lookout room above the course and, for a fee, activate laser guns that can shoot at the gamers inside the room through a window.

They also have a unique rope course that is eleven feet off the ground and provides tests of agility and bravery as kids are strapped in to their secure clip and track system. The course has everything from a tightrope to a balance beam to a horizontal wooden ladder. There is always at least one host on the course that helps kids move along one at a time, and helps anyone who gets stuck or scared.

The arcade at Laser Oasis features both retro games and modern games of every sort. The games keep track of “tickets” which are added to the game card and can be redeemed for prizes.

There are two restaurants/bars on site and, I have to say, their food is really good. It is all pretty much kid-friendly food and my picky eaters approve! They have things like pizza, sliders, french fries, and chicken wings.

As a parent, YOU will squeal with glee at the affordability of their party packages. They have three different party packages, but also the option of add-ons to customize the experience even more. Each of their packages also includes a party host to make sure everything goes smoothly.

The Classic Party is $295 and is for 10 children. It includes pizza and soda, the choice of two activities (laser tag, rope course or laser maze), $5 arcade play for each guest, $10 arcade play for the guest of honor, and 1000 prize points for the guest of honor.

The Adventure Party is $345 for 10 children and the main difference is that there is a choice of THREE activities and the arcade play is bumped up to $10 for guests and $15 for the birthday celebrant.

The Ultimate Party is $395 for 10 children and includes FOUR activities and $15 arcade play for each guest and $20 for the guest of honor.

If you are looking for a great spot for your kid’s next party, please consider Laser Oasis. Not only are they pretty much a one-stop shop for everything you need, but provide entertainment and food in a safe and fun environment. In the meantime, we will keep opening our envelopes, with fingers crossed about what the “where” line says.
